TRECE MARTIRES, Cavite —All the students of Osorio Elementary School finally have enough classrooms for them through a school building donated by SM Foundation.

The new two-story school building has four fully-furnished classrooms with 200 student arm chairs, four teacher’s desk sets, 16 wall fans, eight blackboards, four wall clocks and four washrooms with water closets.

Osorio Elementary is one of the biggest schools in Trece Martires City, with 1,641 students. With the new school building, the average class size is reduced to 48 students per classroom from the previous 62 students per class. The building will be dedicated to Grade 5 students.

“Our desire is for every child to have a properly furnished classroom, where they can learn and achieve their dreams,” said Linda Atayde, SM Foundation executive director for Education Programs.

The Osorio Elementary School building is the 79th school structure nationwide built by SM Foundation.

“Now it is easier for both teachers and students. With this building our need for new classrooms has been met,” said Osorio ES principal Amanda Erni.  “Thank you, SM Foundation, for this school building with four fully-furnished, well-ventilated classrooms that will boost the students’ learning capacity and ability.”

The Osorio ES building is the 79th school building built and donated by SM Foundation nationwide.

SM is committed in uplifting its host communities wherever SM operates, Atayde said, as in Cavite alone, SM Foundation supports 171 college scholars and 24 technical-vocational scholars in two “tech-voc” schools.

The Foundation has also conducted nine farmers’ trainings in Cavite, benefitting 978 farmers, and has conducted more than 50 medical missions in the province.

It has also renovated and refurbished the health center in Indang and Heneral Uno, as well as the Philippine National Police Academy and Nausog Sick Bay in Cavite City.

The Foundation has also renovated and refurbished the Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Hospital, General Trias Medicare Hospital, and the Cavite Federation of Senior Citizens offices.
