The Fourth Quarter Ulat ng Bayan survey of Pulse Asia, conducted from Dec. 6 to 11 or days after Robredo’s announcement of her resignation as Housing secretary, revealed that the Vice President’s latest trust ratings suffered a four-point drop from 65 percent last September to 58 percent by December.

Robredo’s approval rating also fell four points to 62 percent in December from 66 percent in September. Those undecided about her performance rose to 23 percent, while those who expressed disapproval were at 16 percent.

A Social Weather Stations survey earlier showed a double-digit decline in Robredo’s approval rating, from 49 in September to 37 in December.

The period covered by the latest Pulse Asia survey did not include the possible effects of criticism against the Vice President for being out of the country to attend a family reunion while a powerful typhoon punished her hometown in Bicol.

The approval ratings of other government officials remained high, with Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III at 55 percent, with 36 percent saying they were undecided and 9 percent expressing disapproval. Trust in Pimentel remained high at 50 percent.

Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes A. Sereno had an approval rating of 47 percent, while House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez garnered 43 percent.

Approval and trust in the Senate remained high at 58 percent and 57 percent, respectively. The House approval and trust ratings were both at 51 percent, while the Supreme Court had a 55 percent approval and 53 percent trust rating.

The latest poll, with 1,200 adult respondents has a ±3 percent error margin at the 95 percent confidence level.
