Life after leftovers

When the firecrackers have died down and the frenzy is over, what are left are probably a hangover plus lots of ham and cold cuts from the season’s feast. King Sue says you can raise these leftovers from fallback to feast. Here are some ways:

Let’s sip and toss, for a start. Dice the leftover ham, slice some cherry tomatoes, your favorite greens, nuts and dried fruits. Pour honey vinaigrette dressing for a healthy salad. If you have mushrooms, corn kernels, carrots, ham slices and shell macaroni, a creamy macaroni soup is in order.  Add  King Sue bacon before you finish off a hot bowl.

Bring on the breakfast. Slice King Sue Gourmet sausages and mix them with tomatoes, mushroom and cheese to make your own special omelet or frittata. Leftover rice may be sautéed with diced carrots, green peas, corn kernels, and a mishmash of your spare cold cuts and a hearty morning meal is on its way.

Create sumptuous post-holiday meals using leftover ham, sausages and bacon from King Sue

Pancake fixin’. Remember that pancake mix sitting in your cupboard? Mix it with eggs, milk and whisk. Add King Sue bacon or ham on skillet then pour in the pancake mix. Once done, stack them up, sprinkle some raisins or your favorite fruit before you drizzle with honey.

Pizza pan de sal. Slice pan de sal, pour some tomato or pizza sauce, add King Sue Hawaiian ham slices and top them with grated cheese and chopped basil. Cook in an oven toaster for mini pizzas.

Tasty lunch with leftover bacon. Sauté onions, garlic and tomato with fried bacon and cream for that special sauce. Toss in the pasta and add a dash of pepper and herbs.

Dig into dinner. Sautee beans, carrots, cabbage, tomatoes and fried tofu with your favorite cold cuts left from the party. Flavor with oyster sauce and sesame oil. Dinner is deserved!
