For showing up in the game in dark-colored uniforms, members of the Perpetual Help Altas were declared ineligible to play their game with the College of St. Benilde Blazers.
As a matter of formality, the teams still played the game and the Altas prevailed, 69-65, but the Blazers still would still officially take the win on account of technicality.
Perpetual brought the maroon jerseys instead of the designated light uniforms.
The case was the same for the Perpetual juniors team which also forfeited its game.
Management committee chairman Fr. Glynne Ortega of host San Sebastian made his decision known last night.
According to the Mancom’s decision, the Altas team violated rule 4:3.2 of the NCAA basketball rulebook.
The provision states that any athlete whose player uniform does not conform with the rules, is deemed ineligible to play.
