Maynilad Water Services Inc. president and chief executive Ramoncito Saldua Fernandez was named the new president of the Management Association of the Philippines for 2018. Fernandez became the 69th president of the business group since its inception in 1950.
Fernandez holds directorships in Metro Pacific Investments Corp., Metropac Water Investments Corp. and some subsidiaries of PLDT Inc. including Pacific Global One Aviation Company, Tahanan Mutual Building and Loan Association and First Pacific Leadership Academy.
He served as the president and chief executive of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., Tollways Management Corp. and MPCALA Holdings. He has been with the First Pacific Group since 1994, first under the packaging business and later under the telecoms group.
He has led the tollways group in its expansion projects and championed strategies and programs on customer service satisfaction, innovation and a performance-driven culture that promoted profitability and growth of the organization.
Under his term, the total length of toll roads owned by MPTC increased from 90 km to 350 km with profitability increasing nearly threefold.
