BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—Provincial officials have allowed the use of pine trees within the provincial capitol here to be transformed into giant Christmas trees as part of its holiday attractions and celebration.

The transformation of the pine trees along the provincial capitol’s pathways was also offered among the 15 towns, provincial government offices, and national government agencies here as their entry to the Christmas Tree Make-Over Contest.

The deadline was set last Dec. 15, including its judging.

Maybelle Blossom Dumlao-Sevillena, head of the contest committee, said the activity is part of the team building activity of all Nueva Vizcaya offices and national government agencies.

“A committee through the organization of Christian leaders in the province oversees monitoring and output of all entries, making sure they would really be the product of teamwork or unity among government employees of government offices, not only during Christmas but in our daily lives,” she said. It is one of the major attractions of the provincial government’s “Paskua ti Kapitolyo” (Christmas at the Provincial Capitol), which also features the giant Christmas tree in front of the Provincial Capitol Building and Christmas lights hanging over other trees and buildings in the area.

Since its launching last week, Novo Vizcayanos of all ages have flocked at the provincial capitol to gaze at the attractions and feel the spirit of the Christmas season.
