Senator Nancy Binay yesterday called for stricter implementation of environmental policies to avoid a repeat of the fire that recently struck Mt. Pulag.
She said the DENR and the local government should strictly enforce policies to avoid a fire and other accidents in tourist spots like Mt. Pulag.
She added that climbers also have a responsibility to safeguard and protect the mountain.
“We benefit from the rich nature and beauty of Mt. Pulag, but it is our responsibility to protect it,” said Binay, chairman of the Senate committee on tourism.
