Over 1,500 families affected by the recent eruption of Mayon Volcano in Albay received immediate aid through the SM Foundation’s quick response system dubbed as the Operation Tulong Express on Jan. 23. Relief goods of bottled mineral water, rice and ready to eat meals were distributed by employees of SM City Naga and Savemore Legazpi in Bagumbayan Central School and Legazpi Science High School which serve as temporary shelters for the evacuees of the far-flung barangays of Buyoan and Mabinit. The outreach activity was done in coordination with the City Social Welfare Office and the Local Government Unit of Legazpi.
