VICE President Leni Robredo on Tuesday issued a public apology for posing for a photograph with several members of the Liberal Party at the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, Germany.

In a statement, she apologized “for offending the sensitivities of others.”

“There’s no excuse. While there was no malice in it, I take full responsibility, kaya I would like to apologize for whatever offense to the sensitivities of the people it caused,” she said.

Detractors of Robredo hit her when Ifugao Rep. Teddy Baguilat, in a Twitter account, posted a photograph of Robredo, along with Senator Francis Pangilinan, Quezon City Rep. Christopher Belmonte, Marikina City Rep. Miro Quimbo, ex-Budget secretary Florencio Abad and Dinagat Islands Rep. Kaka Bag-ao, at the memorial place.

Robredo and the other party-mates went to Berlin for a study tour for poverty alleviation.

The picture went viral in social media.
