Traditional art and contemporary expressions will converge in the upcoming SM Stationery Art Fest 2019 on May 1-5 at the Mega Fashion Hall.
The five-day event will showcase exhibitions and workshops on calligraphy, watercolor, and acrylic floral painting, as well as 3D art, manga drawing, and pop art.
Award-winning filmmaker Niko Salazar will inspire young animators and anime enthusiasts with his sessions on the tricks of 3D art and the basics of manga drawing.
Cebu-based calligrapher Coy Barredo, on the other hand, will help participants start their own travel journal in “Go for Goals! Travel Dream Board with Faux calligraphy.” Watercolorist Carla Chua, and watercolor hobbyists Oats Tiu and Meeya Cruz will share some styles and techniques in watercolor floral painting as well as painting Chubby Birds using Pixie Ink.
Tippy Go will teach moms and kids how to create a DIY tote bag and DIY 3D wall art; while multi-faceted artist Celvic Villacorta will help update and personalize caps and make colorful bag tags and water bottles. Janus Aragones-Zate will teach kids the technique of Suminagashi Floral Papercutting.
The aforementioned young artists will present their artworks during the art fest.
Shoppers can join the workshop on May 4-5 when they purchase items worth at least P300 from one participating booth at the Mega Fashion Hall.
