J&T Express Philippines is teaming up with e-commerce platform giant Shopee in a bid to strengthen its operations and deliver quality services for the rising number of online retailers in the Philippines.
Dean Ding, chief executive of J&T Express, said Wednesday the e-commerce industry in the country was expected to continue gaining ground, especially with the growing number of Filipinos who do their shopping online.
Citing a recent The Internet World Stats report, Ding said around 67 million Filipinos were doing their shopping online as of January 2018, showing a 12 percent increase year-on-year. The prospect encourages entrepreneurs to take their businesses online and contribute to the growing number of local e-commerce businesses.
“The increasing population of online businesses in the country opens new opportunities for big players in the e-commerce industry,” Dean said.
“By partnering with Shopee, we get to continue J&T Express’ mission of delivering quality express package delivery services that support the growth of local online businesses and, fuel this promising economic growth,” he added.
