Forty portable and innovative paper microscopes were delivered to Lingunan National High School in Valenzuela City to help in the students’ hands-on science classes.
FedEx Express facilitated the safe and efficient delivery of the lightweight microscopes, called foldscopes, which were donated by the inventor himself Dr. Manu Prakash of Stanford University.
LNHS adviser Jeffrey de Leon said they were grateful that FedEx stepped in to help as the cost of shipping the foldscopes from the US was a challenge for them.
This contribution is part of FedEx efforts to create a positive impact in the communities where it operates. The company is ahead of its FedEx Cares goal of investing US$200 million in more than 200 global communities by 2020.
The company has already invested in more than 200 communities and is on track to meet the total contribution goal early.
