Seiko has launched a new limited edition watch inspired by the Ifugao Rice Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Philippines.

The watch, called the Philippine Limited Edition Prospex, is limited to only 1,500 pieces and is now available for purchase.

The watch features a design that is reminiscent of the terraces themselves, with a ridged pattern on the dial and a bezel that is made of ceramic. The watch is also water resistant to 200 meters, making it perfect for outdoor activities.

A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the watch will be donated to the Save The Ifugao Terraces Movement (SITMo), a non-profit organization that is dedicated to preserving the terraces.

Nestled in the heart of the Cordillera region in the Philippines, the Ifugao Rice Terraces are a testament to the enduring spirit of humanity. Carved into the mountainsides over 2,000 years ago, these intricate terraces are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of the Ifugao people’s deep connection to the land.

The terraces are not only an engineering marvel but also a source of sustenance and cultural identity for the Ifugao people. They serve as a reminder of the importance of preserving our heritage and the environment.
