President Marcos declared July as Philippine Agriculturists’ Month to honor the dedication of agriculturists and raise awareness of the country’s agricultural sector.
The declaration was made through Proclamation No. 544, which President Marcos signed on May 10.
“The celebration of the Philippine Agriculturists’ Month will engage professional agriculturists in agricultural advocacy, policy research, and formulation and provide an avenue for enterprise-building, communications training, and community development,” President Marcos said.
Proclamation No. 544 emphasizes the vital contributions of agriculturists, noting the importance of their work in enhancing nationwide agricultural productivity and competitiveness. The month-long celebration is intended to honor their hard work and dedication.
The Department of Agriculture and Professional Regulatory Commission were tasked to lead the activities during the month-long observance.
The proclamation also encouraged all government entities, local government units, and the private sector to support Philippine Agriculturists’ Month.
