President Ferdinand Marcos on Thursday said he would not allow any destabilization plots against his administration.

“We will also not allow agents within the country to destabilize our government and create division within our nation,” President Marcos said in his Talk to Troops at Camp Edilberto Evangelista in Cagayan de Oro City.

While speaking to troops from the Army’s 4th Infantry Division (4ID), President Marcos called on soldiers to uphold their loyalty and adjust to emerging security challenges, such as digital warfare.

He stressed the importance of developing skills and knowledge to combat new forms of warfare, including digital threats.

“We must be prepared to fight false narratives, disinformation, and digital operations that seek to sow conflict against us and among us,” Marcos warned.

He cautioned that the country’s enemies might be hiding in the shadows or infiltrating communities and institutions the government aims to protect. The government, he assured, will be ready to fight back and implement countermeasures to thwart any nefarious schemes.

Emphasizing the importance of rural projects in combating insurgency, Mr. Marcos highlighted the government’s investment of P5.3 billion in 758 projects across 356 barangays.

He commended the success of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (e-CLIP) for former rebels, stating that 80 percent of participants have received benefits like livelihood training and financial aid.

“It will ensure peace in formerly conflict-affected areas and prevent communities from falling back into the trap of armed conflict,” the President said, citing the government’s e-CLIP program.
