The Philippine Army’s 4th Infantry Division (4ID) has a new deputy commander, Brig. Gen. Consolito Yecla, replacing Brig. Gen. George Banzon who retired last July 1.

In his remarks, Yecla expressed gratitude for the “opportunity to take on a critical position” and acknowledged the added weight and responsibility that comes with it.

“With my acceptance of the role as the Assistant Division Commander, I will carry with me all the valuable lessons and experiences I’ve learned. Rest assured that I will do my best to assist the commander as he performs his duties and uphold nothing but excellence, as should any Diamond trooper who takes pride in this,” Yecla said.

He also encouraged the troops to work hand in hand as their unit in pushing total victory against the communist terrorist group.

"To all Diamond troopers, I need your utmost support and cooperation for us to enhance the

performance of our offices and units and for the accomplishment of our mission. Let us strive to

hone our skills as we ensure that every step will bring us closer to the accomplishment of the

command's campaign," Yecla said.
