The Association of Chinese Filipino Schools in the Philippines (ACFSP) celebrated a series of events on Sept. 14, 2024, marking key milestones in its ongoing efforts to advance education and honor educators within the Filipino-Chinese community.
The event featured the completion of the head office renovation, celebrated with a re-opening ceremony. It also included the unveiling of the Honor Roll to recognize donations for the “Respecting Teachers and Respecting Discipline Incentives.”
The association also released a commemorative issue titled “Thirty Years of Sonorous Force, Thousands Islands with Brilliant Work.”
Outstanding teachers for the 2024-2025 academic year were commended during the event and bonuses were awarded to them.
Consul General Wang Yue from the Chinese Embassy in Manila attended the event and
delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the importance of educational excellence and community involvement.
Leaders from various organizations also attended, including representatives from the Filipino-Chinese Grand Family Association, Federation of Filipino Chinese Alumni Association Inc., and the Philippine Jin Jiang General Association Inc.
FFCCCII president Cecilio Pedro lauded ACFSP’s significant contributions to the education of the Filipino-Chinese community and the enhancement of multicultural understanding in the Philippines.
Pedro emphasized the importance of having a team of outstanding Chinese teachers to improve Chinese education and highlighted the core focus of the events- honoring senior Chinese teachers with incentives as a mark of respect and appreciation.
He called for continued support from the Filipino-Chinese community to further advance educational efforts.
ACFSP executive director principals Ye Qi Ming, Xu Rong Zhong, Huang Si Hua, Chen Hui Lin and Lin Wen Chen, along with vice principal Wang Yu Hang, delivered speeches and co-hosted the events.
The celebrations underscored ACFSP’s commitment to fostering educational excellence and recognizing the invaluable contributions of its teachers.
