Smart Communications is alerting customers to watch out for phishing and SMShing scams. These scams can look like they’re coming from trusted sources but are actually trying to steal your personal information, such as passwords, one-time passwords (OTPs), and credit card details.

SMShing, a form of phishing via text messages, aims to deceive recipients into revealing sensitive data. Smart advises users to report any suspicious activity through the Huliscam portal or its dedicated reporting page at https://smart.com.ph/Pages/report-scam.

Customers are urged to be cautious of fake links and phishing messages, and to verify the authenticity of communications. Smart’s official website is https://www.smart.com.ph. Users should avoid responding to unverified messages or clicking on links from unfamiliar sites that request login credentials.

The company also warns against sharing OTPs, noting that legitimate representatives from banks, telecom companies, or support staff will never request such information. Additionally, users should be wary of scams that offer unrealistic rewards or prizes, especially those that ask for personal details or payment.

Smart emphasizes that rewards points can only be redeemed through the Smart App and that it will never request credit card information or payment for reward redemptions.
