Finding joy in financial literacy

On Sept. 13, Knowledge Channel and BPI Foundation introduced EstudyanTIPID to students at Ernesto Rondon High School in Quezon City. During the event, students participated in financial management activities and games designed to provide them with essential tools for understanding financial matters.

The initiative serves as a lead-up to EstudyanTIPID, an educational series aimed at enhancing financial literacy among high school students. The show, produced by Knowledge Channel in partnership with BPI Foundation, features three new episodes that cover topics such as financial security, entrepreneurship, and basic economic concepts through relatable scenarios.

Sharlene San Pedro, who returns to television as Marla in the series, encouraged students to watch.

“If you’re a student looking for money-saving tips and want to learn about finances, this is for you! Watch ‘EstudyanTIPID’ on Knowledge Channel,” she said.

The series aligns with the Department of Education’s curriculum for Grade 9 students, specifically in Araling Panlipunan.

Rina Lopez, president of Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI), emphasized the importance of providing youth with essential financial skills.

“We are pleased to partner with BPI Foundation and other educational stakeholders to build a more financially literate Philippines, where young people can make informed financial choices,” Lopez stated.

EstudyanTIPID airs every Monday at 3:20 p.m., with replays on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday on Knowledge Channel.

The series is available on cable, direct-to-home satellite, and online via iWantTFC, as well as on Kapamilya Channel and A2Z. Video lessons can be accessed on Knowledge Channel’s official Facebook and YouTube pages, along with educational content on TikTok.
