Lawmen arrested three more big-time drug traffickers in Las Piñas City as part of the police continuing crackdown on suspected drug dealers and other criminal elements in southern Metro Manila.

The suspects—John Ryan Modelo, 29, also known as “Jay-Ar Shabu”; Rogelio Roxas, 43; and Ramil Espiritu, 53—were arrested in separate police operations based on the search warrants signed and issued by Las Piñas Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Elizabeth Yu Guray.

Joint operatives from the Las Piñas City-Station Drug Enforcement and Intelligence Units, and Police Community Precinct-5 applied the search warrants at the suspects’ residences on Thursday and found more than P900,000 worth of shabu and drug paraphernalia.

Also recovered from Modelo and Roxas were one .38-cal revolver (serial number 1003937) loaded with five bullets, and .9MM pistol (serial number 997650 also loaded with 12 bullets.)

Police busted Modelo inside his residence at 10 Antenor Street in Barangay Pamplona Uno while Roxas was arrested at Block 1 Lot 14 Markville Subdivision in Barangay Talon Uno.

Espiritu, on the other hand, was arrested at Block 5 Lot 13 Camis Street, Mother Earth Subdivision in Barangay Talon Dos.

The suspects are now detained at the Las Piñas City police detention center while the confiscated drugs were turned over to Southern Police District-Crime laboratory for chemical analysis.

They will be charged with violation of Section 11, Art. II of Republic Act 9165 and R.A. 10591 before the city prosecutors office.

Police are not discounting the possibility that Modelo, Roxas, and Espiritu are connected with three other suspected drug dealers recently arrested with more than P20 million worth of shabu found in their possession.

The authorities arrested last week Danizon Manese, 29, alias Tenten, during a drug entrapment operation along C-5 Road Extension in Barangay Manuyo Dos, also in Las Piñas.

Authorities seized 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million from the suspect’s possession.

More than P17 million worth of shabu was also seized in a separate police operation at Verdant Acres Subdivision in Barangay Pamplona Tres.

Two suspected drug traffickers Jerrymias Suson and Miguel Castillo were also arrested by a composite team from the Las Piñas City Police Station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Group who conducted the operations.

Las Piñas City police station commander Col. Segundo Lagundi Jr. said the campaign against illegal drugs is a top priority of SPD, considering the “location of our district serves as the crossing place going to south and north.”

The authorities vowed that the government's crackdown on drug dealing in the country will continue with the goal of catching big-time traffickers and their protectors.
