ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) Philippines said it raised its capacity with the opening of an upgraded facility in Makati City.

Data Hall F of STT Makati, formerly known as Globe MK2 Data Center, was launched following the completion of renovations and expansion projects, showcasing the company’s dedication to enhancing its service offerings and capability to meet clients’ data needs.

STT Makati has a total IT load capacity of over 5 MW.

“Our mission is to enable our digital future not only in the Philippines, but across the world. Our reputation is built on delivering what we promise, a principle that remains central to our strategy. At STT GDC, we don’t just articulate our vision, we ensure that our partners and customers can count on us to execute with precision and reliability,” said Carlo Malana, president and chief executive of STT GDC Philippines.

Globe president and chief executive Ernest Cu said data centers are essential for powering digital services and solutions.

“As we expand STT GDC Philippines, we get closer to our dream of turning the Philippines into a preferred location for hyperscalers in Southeast Asia, driving digitalization and uplifting the lives of Filipinos by creating more opportunities for them,” Cu said.

ACMobility chief executive and STT GDC Philippines board director Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala said the company’s goal is to support efforts to position the Philippines as a regional hub for data storage.

“As we see growth in the data center business, we are constantly on the lookout for ways that we can harness the synergies across the Ayala group to make sure that we’re positioning this as best as possible,” Zobel de Ayala said.

Meanwhile, the construction of STT Fairview and STT Cavite 2 which started last year are on track.

STT Fairview, slated to be operational by 2025, is set to become the largest data center in the Philippines, with an IT capacity of 124 MW once completed.

Designed to be the most interconnected and carrier-neutral data center campus, it will offer seamless connectivity while incorporating sustainable practices and advanced energy-efficient technologies.

STT Cavite 2, the company’s second data center facility at the General Trias business park, is expected to deliver up to 6 MW of total IT capacity.

The strategic expansion of STT GDC Philippines in Makati, Fairview and Cavite exemplifies the company’s dedication to enabling the country’s digital future.
