Thermo Fisher Scientific, an American life science and research company, opened a new global business services center (GBSC) in Quezon City which will employ 450 professionals.
The new center will integrate with a global network of over 1,600 colleagues across five existing shared service centers, operating as a central hub to deliver financial and customer services for its customers in the healthcare and biotech industries.
The new GBSC will expand Thermo Fisher’s presence in the Philippines, where over 1,400 team members are already engaged in clinical research and customer support. The center will initially employ 100 individuals, with plans to expand the workforce to over 450 colleagues by end-2026.
Konrad Bauer, senior vice president for global business services at Thermo Fisher Scientific said the new site “represents a significant expansion of our extensive global network of global business services centers. With this growth, we are strategically positioned to enhance our capabilities that enable our customers’ important work.”
Thermo Fisher has an expanding presence in the region, supporting customers through comprehensive solutions in areas such as biotech, healthcare, clean energy and environmental monitoring.
