DOT achieves ISO certification for quality management standards

The Department of Tourism (DOT) said Friday it again achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification, marking seven years of consistent adherence to quality management standards.

DOT Secretary Christina Frasco underscored the agency’s dedication to excellence in government service, saying the certification reflects their commitment to exceeding expectations in delivering tourism performance for the country.

“This globally-recognized benchmark ensures that our processes consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements,” she said.

The DOT first obtained ISO certification in 2018 and has consistently passed subsequent surveillance and re-certification audits, demonstrating its commitment to maintaining high service standards.

The recent audit, conducted by PT AJA Sertifikasi Indonesia-Philippine Representative Office, assessed the DOT’s compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards in areas such as accreditation, enforcement and training.

The DOT also received an “unmodified opinion” from the Commission on Audit (COA) for its fiscal year 2023 financial statements.

Frasco said the DOT’s financial reporting is accurate and adheres to international standards of supreme audit institutions.
