Six more local government units (LGUs) in Mindanao are now fully compliant with the electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS), according to the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).

The additional eBOSS-compliant LGUs are Davao City, General Santos City, Malaybalay City, Tagoloan, El Salvador City and Dapitan City, ARTA said in a statement.

It said these LGUs, which established eBOSS between May 3 and 31, would help ARTA achieve its target of making 200 LGUs fully compliant by year-end.

ARTA described eBOSS as a single portal for business permit applications and renewals, implemented by the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Department of Information and Communications Technology, the Department of Trade and Industry and ARTA.

A fully established eBOSS offers an online system for receiving electronic business applications through a unified application form; issuance of electronic tax bills, fire safety inspection certificate fees, and barangay clearance fees; the capability to issue electronic permits; and acceptance of non-cash payment methods.

“This is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call to digitalize government processes to improve ease of doing business and reduce red tape,” ARTA director-general Ernesto Perez said.

He said ARTA is prepared to assist LGUs in achieving full eBOSS compliance.

The Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 mandated all LGUs to establish eBOSS by June 17, 2021. ARTA said 36 LGUs had fully-established eBOSS as of June 7.
