President Marcos has issued Memorandum Circular No. 53, adopting the Department of Health’s (DOH) National Objectives for Health (NOH) for 2023-2028.
This strategy aligns with the Philippine Development Plan and the long-term vision of “AmBisyon Natin 2040.”
Signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on June 4, the NOH 2023-2028 aims to strengthen the health sector and promote good health as a key factor in economic and social transformation.
“Consistent with the abovementioned State policies, and pursuant to DOH’s mandate as the lead agency responsible to set the country’s policy direction on health, the National Objectives for Health (NOH) 2023-2028 was formulated to serve as the country’s medium-term strategy for strengthening the country’s health sector,” President Marcos said.
The DOH will lead the implementation, ensuring comprehensive understanding among stakeholders, establishing a monitoring framework, and coordinating with local government units (LGUs), the private sector, and civil society. All government agencies and LGUs are directed to support this initiative.
The circular takes effect immediately.
