Washington, United States—Tech billionaire Elon Musk said Saturday (Sunday in Manila) he “fully” endorses Donald Trump after the Republican presidential candidate was rushed bleeding from the stage of a rally in Pennsylvania after an apparent shooting.

“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk wrote on X, which he owns along with carmaker Tesla, as he shared a video of Trump pumping his fist while being escorted away by Secret Service officials.

Trump inevitably became the number one trending topic on the Musk-owned platform following this incident at the Republican presidential candidate’s rally, which was immediately viewed by his supporters as a failed assassination attempt.

As of this posting, it has generated over 4.38 million posts in the Philippines. Musk’s post alone has been viewed 55 million times and counting. Majority of the posts sounded positive for Trump with some supporters already declaring he has won the election.

On his own X account, former US President Barack Obama released his reaction, saying “there is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy,” as he and his wife Michelle wished the Republican candidate “a quick recovery.”

“Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics,” Obama said.

Trump’s supporters quickly jumped in on that post with Musk replying “at least you spoke before Biden.”

US President Biden already released his own statement condemning the incident and calling for unity. The rally shooting has reportedly killed one bystander. With Agence France Presse
