In response to the significant impact of the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” intensified by Super Typhoon Carina, the local government of Taguig declared a state of calamity through City Council Resolution No. 523.

The resolution comes after continuous torrential rains severely impacted the National Capital Region, including Taguig City.

The floods and disruptions damaged infrastructure, livelihoods, and essential services, prompting the need for emergency response and recovery measures.

The declaration activates the Quick Response Fund, allowing for the immediate release and use of resources to address the situation. This fund will support various emergency needs, including relief operations, infrastructure repairs, and assistance to affected residents.
