The Philippine Navy reported on Thursday that it welcomed Rear Admiral Jose Ma. Ambrosio Ezpeleta, as its 57th Vice Commander in a Change of Chief of Office Ceremony presided over by the Flag Officer in Command, Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr. at the Navy Headquarters on Wednesday.

“Your strategic insight and ability to inspire those around you make you the perfect person to take on the mantle of Vice Commander. I trust that under your leadership, the Navy will continue to thrive and evolve, ready to face whatever challenges come our way,” said the Navy chief as he praised Rear Admiral Ezpeleta’s strategic insight and leadership qualities.

Vice Admiral Adaci Jr. also honored the contributions of the outgoing Vice Commander, Rear Admiral Caesar Bernard Valencia, who earlier assumed the role of Superintendent of the Philippine Military Academy.

“Rear Adm. Valencia, you have been more than a Vice Commander; you have been a mentor, a leader, and a steady hand that has guided our Navy through crucial moments. Your legacy is one of integrity, strength, and excellence, and for that, we owe you our deepest gratitude,” added the Navy chief.

As the Navy’s second-in-command, the Vice Commander’s role is essential in supporting the FOIC in both strategic planning and operational execution.

“I am honored to assume this position, and I look forward to the developments we will achieve together in the service of our maritime nation,” Rear Adm. Ezpeleta expressed.
