AFP names new acting Chief Engineer

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Wednesday installed Colonel Ricnon Carolasan as acting Chief Engineer, succeeding Major General Proseso Rebancos who will retire from military service and was honored with a retirement ceremony at Camp Aguinaldo.

Lieutenant General Charlton Sean Gaerlan, the AFP Deputy Chief of Staff, presided over the ceremony, which was attended by senior officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian employees of the AFP.

Before being designated as TCE, MGen Rebancos served as the commander of the 53rd Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army.

He was also assigned in various command and staff positions such as the Army Chief of Engineer; Commanding Officer of the 544th Engineer Construction Battalion; the Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics, G4, at the 52nd Engineer Brigade and at the 4th Infantry Division; and as the Deputy Army Internal Auditor.

On the other hand, Colonel Carolasan, the Deputy Chief Engineer, takes over in an acting capacity, previously the Chief of Staff of the 53rd Engineering Brigade and commanding officer of the Engineer Support Battalion and 564th Engineer Construction Battalion.
