Davao Regional Police Office Chief Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III assumed the leadership of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) as acting director effective this Wednesday, September 25, the Philippine National Police (PNP) announced.

PNP Director for Personnel and Records Management signed the general orders on Tuesday, September 24, in a memorandum issued from the national headquarters.

Torre took over the CIDG post from Police Major General Leo Francisco, who is moving to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit.

The former PNP-Davao chief played a key role in arresting Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy after a 16-day search at the organization’s compound in Davao City on September 8. He was also credited for implementing significant reforms to improve police work in the region.

Southern Police District chief Brigadier General Leon Victor Rosete replaces Torre as acting director of PNP-Davao following the latter’s new designation.
