The recent passing of Regal Entertainment founder Lily Monteverde, better known as Mother Lily, has deeply saddened many in the entertainment industry who knew her personally.
In their grief, many celebrities, political figures, and filmmakers took to social media to express their condolences and celebrate the memory of the woman who touched many lives through her work.
Actors such as Iza Calzado, Judy Ann Santos, Maricel Soriano, and Ai Ai Delas Alas shared heartfelt messages of gratitude, acknowledging how Mother Lily was vital to the success of their careers. Senators Bong Revilla and Grace Poe also expressed their appreciation for the late film producer’s support and care, noting how she treated them as if they were her children.
The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and other figures in the film industry recognized how Mother Lily’s contributions to the development of many films helped grow Philippine cinema.
Mother Lily passed away on Aug. 4 at the age of 85, just a few days after the death of her husband, Leonardo Monteverde, on July 29.
