Rep. Corvera’s journey has shaped his unwavering commitment to improve the lives of low-income people. Growing up, he experienced poverty as a volunteer errand boy for the Agusan Council of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. These early experiences have instilled in him a deep empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by his constituents.
Throughout his career in public service, Rep. Corvera has consistently prioritized poverty alleviation. His efforts have significantly reduced poverty rates in the province, from a staggering 70 percent to less than half. Amante was still in the House of Representatives. AGUSAN UP! has Amomang Agusanon with Agus Serbisyo as a significant program in delivering social services. It also has the Plant and Process for Prosperity as the leading economic program with the twin Plant! Plant! Plant! and Process! Process! Process! as main projects.
Moreover, the Hiniusang Lihuk Agusan, a vital campaign component, emphasizes the importance of unity and people empowerment in driving progress.
Rep. Corvera’s Congressional District Office (CDO) has provided social assistance programs such as MAIP and AKAP to complement the provincial government’s efforts. Additionally, the CDO and the provincial government have collaborated with the DOLE to implement the TUPAD program, which offers temporary employment opportunities to displaced workers. This initiative is a crucial component of economic development and supports the province’s ambitious goal of planting 125,000 hectares by 2030.
Another vital initiative supported by the CDO and the provincial government is the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), funded by DSWD. This program aims to foster economic growth by empowering individuals to start small-scale businesses.
Furthermore, a cornerstone of Rep. Corvera’s development agenda is the twin Plant! Plant! Plant! and Process! Process! Process! projects under AGUSAN UP!
