Marcos-Duterte tandem, Villar, and ACT-CIS top national posts in recent poll

The tandem of former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio led other candidates in a nationwide survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD)

Marcos ppsted 45.02 percent of respondents’ votes, followed by Vice President Leni Robredo at 20.6 percent. 

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso ranked third with a 16.25 percent preference rating, followed by Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao took at 9.79 percent preference rating, and Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson at 8 percent.

In terms of geographic areas, Marcos lead in Metro Manila (47.94 percent), the rest of Luzon (46.61 percent), Visayas (38.87 percent), and Mindanao (46.04 percent). 

In the vice-presidential race, 52.05 percent of the respondents said they will support Duterte-Carpio. 

Trailing her is Senate President Vicente Sotto III with 35.95 percent and Senator Francis Pangilinan with 6.22 percent of the respondents. The rest of the vice-presidential aspirants had single-digit voter preference. 

For the senatorial race, former Public Works Secretary Mark A. Villar is the most favored candidate with 63.7 percent, followrd by Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero (58.2 percent), Antique Representative Loren Legarda (57.9 percent), broadcaster Raffy Tulfo (55.3 percent), former House Speaker Alan Cayetano (49.6 percent) and Sen. Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri (46.1 percent).

The survey also showed that ACT-CIS (9.37 percent) is the top choice for party-list among voters, followed by Ako Bicol (8.21 percent), 4PS (5.25 percent), An Waray (4.73 percent), and Gabriela (4.26 percent).

The “Halalan 2022 Survey” is non-commissioned poll conducted from January 22-30, 2022 with 10,000 registered voters as respondents nationwide using random sampling with -/+1 % margin of error, said Dr. Paul Martinez of RPMD.
